CONFUSION has struck again over a gym and a strip club with some nasty results for a Toowoomba mother.

After she featured in the Mother's Day edition of The Chronicle, Kayla Ferguson, a personal trainer at the Vault gym - an extension of Breathe Health Club - copped some unexpected flak after she was accused of being a stripper.

Ms Ferguson was nominated by her co-workers for a story that should have earnt her nothing but praise.

She wrote in to say she had received some "not-so-nice feedback" over the article from parents at school, family friends and even strangers.

One woman also approached her and congratulated her on being open about her "work".

"I'd never been called a stripper before but the girls must be pretty hot so I'll take it as a compliment," Ms Ferguson said.

Powered by Breathe Health Clubs, the Vault gym is located in the Breathe complex, 231 James St - not to be confused with the Vault on Ruthven.

Fitness director Mark Gordon joked he wouldn't mind being the director of the Vault strip club but hoped confusion would be cleared.

"We do refer to the gym as Breathe's Bassment," he laughed.

The gym hosts its open day on Saturday, May 31, from 9am-noon.
