Men of League dig deep

THE Men of League have donated six lots of $1000 shopping vouchers to those people in the rugby league fraternity affected by the Grantham floods.

Gatton Co-ordinator, Andrew O'Brien said six families have benefited and he said it means a lot to people to receive monetary help.

“It means a lot at this stage as it's been nearly two months since the disaster,” he said.

“Generally people were just so appreciative that someone still cared.”

He said he had received different responses on where the money should go.

“One lady said she wanted her husband to buy a new generator or welding kit as he was always in the shed doing stuff and has been lost since the disaster,” Mr O'Brien said.

If anyone would like to join the Men of League, it is only $20 with no annual fee and all proceeds go to people in the rugby league community who have come on hard times.
