Meet the newest lady to be crowned Miss Showgirl 2020

SHE MAY only be 19 but Brooke Barron has earned herself a trifecta scorecard after the recent announcement at a high tea celebration.

Ms Barron has previously won Miss Junior Showgirl and Miss Teen Showgirl at the Cooyar Show.

Now, she can add Miss Showgirl 2020 to her many accolades as she prepares for the town's biggest annual event later this month.

The humble winner said she was keeping up a Barron family tradition in taking out the top spot.

"My older sister Brianna encouraged me to apply for it," Ms Barron said.

"She won Miss Showgirl in 2016 and really enjoyed the experience.

"There's a bit of an interview process and the judges ask a lot of questions.

"However, it's a great opportunity to represent the community and hopefully it will lead into a more permanent leadership role within the committee."

Along with managing her commitments for the upcoming show, Ms Barron said she was also about to embark on another life-changing journey.

"I have just been accepted in the USQ at Toowoomba to study a Bachelor of Nursing.

"My course starts there two days after the show finishes, so I am moving to Toowoomba next week.

"I was working as a VET nurse but had always wanted to work with people, so now that's what I am aspiring to do."

The newly crowned Miss Showgirl said she looked forward to representing her community over the next couple of months.

"I have so many found memories of growing up in Cooyar," Ms Barron said.

"It's a such a little town and everyone gets along.

"It's lovely having events like the cocktail night and seeing everyone come along for a good time."

"This month I will attend the show and visit all of the different stalls and make a speech.

"After the show finishes, I will compete at the Toowoomba Show against 16 others girls.

"The winner will then head down to compete at the Ekka, which the thought of it all makes me feel a little bit nervous but also excited."

Miss Teen Showgirl 2020 was awarded to Holly Barron from Cooyar and Ella Kuhl was crowned Miss Junior Showgirl 2020.
