Marburg hosts 2009 seniors concert

PREMIER Anna Bligh will celebrate Christmas with the senior community of Marburg as she hosts an annual Premier’s Seniors Christmas Concert on December 3.

Together with Member for Ipswich West Wayne Wendt, Premier Bligh said she was excited to be hosting the free concert and delighted to bring some Christmas cheer to the seniors of Marburg.

“The concerts provide a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the significant contributions seniors make to their communities throughout the year,” Ms Bligh said.

“I am thrilled to be celebrating the spirit of Christmas with the seniors of Marburg and look forward to enjoying a sing-along to our favourite carols,” she said.

The concert will feature the musical talents of charismatic jazz singer Melissa Western and the 2009 Senior Superstar Darcy Turgeon, as well as a performance by local students.

Entry to the concert is free, however places are limited. Seniors are encouraged to call 3405 5215.
