UPDATE:

INVESTIGATIONS into two accidents at Glencore's Clermont mine are underway a spokesman said.

A man's hand was crushed at their Clermont workshop yesterday, the second worker to be injured at the site in three weeks.

The 32-year-old had a bone in the back of his hand crushed by a hydraulic ladder yesterday afternoon, and was helicoptered to Mackay Base Hospital after having surgery at Clermont Hospital.

A Glencore spokesman said it's believed three weeks ago a fitter fell from the grader he was working on and broke his wrist.

"Any incident is investigated internally and I believe we will start having those conversations from Monday," he said.

A Department of Natural Resources and Mines spokesman said they were waiting on an investigation report from the mine operator into the incident before deciding whether it required further investigation.

EARLIER:

RACQ CQ Rescue said a worker whose right arm was crushed by a hydraulic ladder at Clermont was airlifted to Mackay Base Hospital yesterday.

The 32-year-old man, from Paradise Point, was working on mining equipment when the accident happened about 10am, about 280km south-west of Mackay.

RACQ CQ Rescue departed base at 10.40am and arrived at the Clermont hospital about noon.

The rescue chopper, with a paramedic and doctor aboard, departed at 12.30pm and arrived at the Mackay Base Hospital about 1.40pm.
