Manhunt after service station robbed with knife

POLICE are searching for a man who used a knife to rob a service station at Eagleby this morning.

Around 2.40am a man entered the River Hills Road business and made demands for money while armed with a knife.

The 55-year-old female employee ran to a storeroom and the man jumped onto the counter grabbing the female employee's handbag as well as money from the till.

As the offender jumped off the counter he dropped some notes and stopped to pick them up off the floor before reaching over the counter again and grabbing more money from the till and fleeing the store.

No one was physically injured in the incident.

The man is described as being aged in his early 20s, Caucasian in appearance and was wearing a light grey hoody, black shorts, white shoes and had a blue/black cloth over his head.

Investigations are continuing.
