A MAN who took his speeding conviction all the way to the Brisbane District Court to have it overturned has had his appeal dismissed.
Robert Peter Bartley was fined $300 in March last year for driving a car over the 40kmh speed limit along Burnett St, Ipswich.
Bartley, who represented himself at his trial in July this year and his appeal, argued the police camera that captured him speeding did not comply with legislation.
The district court judgment delivered on Friday (October 31) stated the Ipswich magistrate who fined Bartley was not swayed when he heard arguments the camera evidence was manipulated.
The magistrate said the fact the information might be printed on paper at a later stage did not mean the police TrueCAM system did not produce it at the relevant time.
Judge David Reid agreed with the magistrate that the information came from the device and dismissed the appeal.
