Man tasered after confronting police at street disturbance

POLICE were forced to taser a man who confronted them while responding to reports of a disturbance yesterday.

Dalby police were called to the disturbance about 3.45pm Saturday near the corner of Alice and Annie St in the northwest side of the Western Downs town.

A man was identified and told by police he was under arrest, but as police attempted to take him into custody, it will be alleged he resisted and confronted officers.

"As a result of police attempting to take the man into custody he confronted police who deployed a taser," a police spokesman said.

The man was then taken into custody and taken to the Dalby police watch house.

He was not injured in the incident.

The man, 32, was later charged with obstruct police and a variety of other offences, and is due to appear in court at a later date.

The officers were not injured in the incident.
