Man shot through heart with arrow

A MAN was shot in the heart with an arrow on Tuesday, paramedics said, with another man arrested after the incident north of Brisbane.

The Queensland Ambulance Service was called to an address on Ellis Street, Lawnton, at 1.28pm after a man was shot in the chest and arm with an arrow.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said the arrow had gone through the victim's heart.

The man, 35, was transported to Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious condition.

Police have arrested a man, believed to be in his late 30s.
