Man shot by police after incident in North Qld

A MAN has been shot by police following an incident in Hermit Park.  

The incident occurred around 4.20am near a service station on Charters Towers Road in Townsville.  

The man has been taken to Townsville Hospital for treatment to his injuries.

 A section of Charters Towers Road is currently closed.   

The investigation will be overviewed by the Ethical Standards Command.
