M'boro man, 49, on four child pornography charges

A MAN who allegedly downloaded computer-generated images and videos of child pornography has faced Maryborough Magistrates Court.

The man, 49, appeared in court facing four charges of failing to comply with reporting requirements placed upon him by police, six charges of possessing child exploitation material and one charge of using a carriage service to access child pornography material.

The court heard the man had failed to tell police he had engaged a new internet service and had failed to provide details of his email address.

Furthermore he hadn't provided details of internet usernames to police or details relating to his use of social networking sites.

Upon examining the man's computer, police allegedly found computer-generated child pornography images and videos.

The court heard the man was truck driver who had lived in Maryborough for a bit more than a year.

He had bought a house and was in the middle of renovating it.

Magistrate John Smith told the man if the police had not initially given him bail in respect of the new charges, he would not have released him on bail until his next court date, set down for February 21.

"You need to toe the line," he said.

"It's all up to you."
