Man hospitalised after near-drowning on Sunshine Coast beach

A MAN has been hospitalised after he almost drowned at Peregian Beach this afternoon.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said paramedics were called to a location off Pitta St at 3.07pm to reports of someone in trouble in the water.

When paramedics arrived the man was out of the water with no obvious injuries.

He was taken to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition as a precaution.
