IT WILL be another month before a young man accused of carrying out a string of armed robberies in Hervey Bay this year will be committed to face a higher court.

Kyle Benjamin James Gala, 20, is accused of holding up two Hervey Bay pubs, an additional failed attempt at another hotel and the robbery of a Gold Coast bank.

He was set to be committed in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court yesterday but the case was adjourned until October 5.

Officers arrested Mr Gala in June.

Police allege that he held up the Kondari Hotel on May 21, the Bay Central Tavern on June 21 and made an unsuccessful attempt to do the same at the Torquay Hotel later that night.

Following the review of CCTV footage Mr Gala was also charged with the robbery of the Suncorp Bank in Beenleigh.

It is alleged that on release from prison Mr Gala moved to the Gold Coast before coming back to the Fraser Coast earlier this year.

Investigations into whether Mr Gala could be linked to a list of further unsolved robberies on the Gold Coast are continuing.
