Sunshine Coast man, 69, dies after boating mishap on lake

A 69-YEAR-OLD man from Pelican Waters has been identified as the deceased from yesterday's fatal marine incident at Hazeldean.

Around 4.30pm, two men were in a vessel which capsized on Lake Somerset.

The 69-year-old was pulled unconscious from the water and died a short time later.

A 67-year-old Birkdale man was transported to hospital for treatment of lacerations to his arm.

Sunshine Coast District Water Police are investigating.
