Man charged over fatal crash on Bruce Hwy
A 58-YEAR-OLD man has been charged over a fatal five-car crash on the Bruce Hwy just south of the Sunshine Coast.
Paul Gerard Crimmins, of Ballina in New South Wales, had one count of dangerous driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm mentioned in Caloundra Magistrates Court this morning.
A 69-year-old Noosaville man died at the scene of the Bells Ck crash on November 27 last year.
A rescue helicopter landed on the highway to take other seriously injured people to hospital.
Crimmins was not required to appear for this morning's mention.
Solicitor Neale Tobin asked for a full brief of evidence to be supplied.
He also requested that Crimmins' appearance be excused on the next mention because he lived interstate. Crimmins' matters are next due for mention in the same court on July 20.
