Man charged for calling 000 over false emergencies

POLICE have charged a Victorian man after he allegedly called 000 on more than 60 occasions to direct emergency services to bogus incidents.

Investigators allege the man made the calls over 12 months, sending emergency services rushing to fake incidents across Melbourne's north-west.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were allegedly called to fake fires and car crashes.

A 23-year-old was charged with 63 counts of improper use of a telecommunications device and one count of conduct endangering serious injury.
