Man armed with meat cleaver robbed convenience store

TOWNSVILLE police are investigating after a man armed with a meat cleaver robbed an Oonoonba convenience store this morning.

Around 8.55am the man entered the Abbott Street business, threatening two employees- a 22-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl- before stealing cash from the tills and running from the store.

He was last seen fleeing down O'Donnell Street.

No one was physically injured and police investigations are continuing.
