A 19-year-old man charged with causing the crash death of Coast teen Bailey Sibraa has appeared in court.
Jett Malcolm Morris was charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance after the January 6 crash.
Morris, of Landsborough, was also charged with driving under the influence of liquor.
His matters were adjourned until May 19

Man accused of drunken crash to be sentenced

A SENTENCE date has been set for a man accused of killing his friend and injuring another in a drunken car crash.

Jett Malcolm Morris was charged with dangerous driving causing death and grievous bodily harm after the ute he was driving crashed into a tree on Pacific Boulevard, Buddina on January 6, 2017.

He's also facing a charge of driving under the influence.

Bailey Sibraa, 19, was killed and Josh Harrison, 21, was left fighting for his life with a punctured lung and multiple head and facial injuries, spending nine weeks in hospital.

Morris will face Maroochydore District Court for sentencing on March 26, less than 18 months after the fatal crash.
