Man, 82, found after spending night in bogged car
AN 82-YEAR-OLD Bundaberg man has been found more than 24 hours after his car became bogged at Rubyanna in the vicinity of Kirby's Wall and McGills Rd.
Police, Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics, Volunteer Marine Rescue and a RACQ Roadside Assistance vehicle joined the search for the man after he spent the night sleeping in his car.
The man, who has a medical condition, had been exposed to the cold and was feeling unwell when he contacted police about 10.30am Monday.
He was unable to provide his exact location before his phone battery died.
The man had gone past the end of McGills Rd and onto an unsealed track along the banks of the Burnett River to take photos when his car became bogged about 3pm Sunday.
QAS senior operations supervisor Martin Kelly said the man was found about 3.30pm Monday before being taken to Bundaberg Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
