Major housing investments
THE NewLands Group has committed to two multi-million dollar developments in Gatton.
Newlands General Manager Gavin Hodges said these developments were an investment in the future of the Gatton region.
“The Woodchester Residential Estate is being developed to provide affordable house and land packages and residential land for new and current residents of the town.”
Developed on arguably one of the best sites for residential land in Gatton, with views back towards Toowoomba, the estate will provide some of the most affordably priced land in Gatton.
Preliminary planning is continuing and the first release of land should be available in mid 2010.
“We are planning for 500 residential lots, a local convenience centre and potential retirement living precinct within the Woodchester Estate,” Mr Hodges said.
Woodchester Estate will be accessed via Allan Cunningham Drive, and is about 5km from the Gatton CBD.
This location will give residents easy access to local amenities of Gatton.
The natural contours of the land and a dam already on-site will be redeveloped to provide a focal point for the development.
The estate will provide residents will many leisure areas around the waterway and parklands built into the estate.
“Our confidence in Gatton is high, in addition to our master planned residential estate, we are in the advanced stage of planning for the development of an over 55s retirement village on the northern side of town.
“Our research shows that between 2001 and 2006 the number of people aged over 55 in the Gatton region increased by more than 19 per cent. This is a trend we believe will continue in the future.
“To relieve the pressure that this increase will put on Gatton, we are developing the Gatton Lifestyle Village.
“Planning is in place for this development and the village will be marketed in mid 2010.”
The master-planned community is designed to give residents the benefits of independent living, and provide the security, comfort and low maintenance of a brand new home.
“The completed development will be a fully integrated, independent home community with high quality community and recreational facilities,” he said.
“The Gatton Lifestyle Village is aimed at the over 55s lifestyle market, and will offer them an affordable housing alternative not currently available in the region.”
