DALBY brothers Luke and Cody Cook are one step closer to having Luke's mortgage paid off.

The twins are now through to Sunday's House Rules grand final after avoiding elimination in tonight's semi-final delivery of their renovations for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Luke and Cody scored their third win in a row, securing their spot not only on the top of the leader board but in the all-important live final.

"We never thought we would make it through the first round let alone get this far in the competition," Luke said.

"We worked really hard every week… there have been a lot of tears.

"We're pretty lucky we get along really well and this competition has just brought us closer together. I'm very lucky to have Cody."

They received a combined judges' score of 17 for their kitchen and bathroom layouts, drawing inspiration from Sex and The City for their Manhattan apartment design brief.

Their clever design choices also shone through in their relaxing country garden.

"It's not just the fabulous design ideas you guys have, it's the emotion and consideration that comes behind those ideas and your garden was a great example of that," judge Wendy Moore said.

They will be up against good mates Claire Lintzeris and Hagan Rice this week in one final design and renovation challenge which has been dubbed 'country versus coast'.

Sunday's grand final show will be broadcast live from the two finalists' homes in Dalby and Victoria's Mornington Peninsula.

There has never been a Queensland winner of House Rules, which is now in its fourth season.

The grand final winners will have their mortgage paid off in full as part of the reno show's grand prize.

There's also a potential future career in television with season two winner Adam Dovile landing a presenting role on Better Homes and Gardens.

The House Rules grand final airs on Sunday at 7pm on Channel 7.
