Lockyer Valley Christmas lights winners announced

FOR the third year in a row Lynelle Niemeyer has taken out the top award in the Lockyer Valley Christmas lights competition.

The Niemeyer residence at 66 Golf Links Drive, Gatton was named Best Decorated Home by judges in the 2014 Spirit of the Lockyer Valley Christmas Lights and Decoration Competition, following on from similar wins in 2012 and 2013.

The house spreads Christmas cheer to anyone fortunate to walk or drive by at night and Lockyer Valley council is encouraging others to take a look at all the lights on display this year.

The winners are normally announced at the Gatton Christmas Festival but that was delayed to Friday, December 19 due to wet weather and the council wanted to give people more time to see the lights.

For the first time Council is laying on a bus tour of some of the winners and others entrants.

The first tour is on tomorrow night leaving from Laidley and the second tour leaves from Gatton on Thursday night.

Both tours depart at 7pm and return at 9.30pm with tickets $10 for adults and $5 for a child. For more information call the Visitor Information Centre on 5466 3425.
