Locals in the world of fashion
TWO local hairdressers have returned from Rosemount Australian Fashion Week in Sydney with the memory of a lifetime.
Fusion Hair and Beauty owner, Sharon Kluck said it was a valuable experience for all the hairdressers.
“For me the standout show was Lisa Ho, for the hairstyle and also for my own preferences too,” she said.
“I love her clothes, so it was very exciting to work on her show.”
Mrs Kluck worked on model, Samantha Harris' hair for the show, caught up with Napoleon Perdis and enjoyed the buzzing atmosphere.
“Alex Perry was floating around for a bit, but there were basically lots of designers and models with lots happening all the time,” she said.
“For each show we worked on, we could get through about two to three models, depending on the hairstyle.
“For the Morrison show, it was very young, clean and fresh, so it was a loose tassled ponytail, but for the Karla Spetic show they went for a more sleep glossy look.
“Some designers go for minimalist hair so they don't detract from the clothes, but with those styles often one hair out of place stands out with all the lights and the cameras.”
Mrs Kluck said the event made a change to what happens at work.
“For one style I had to work with gel all through long hair, which isn't something that happens in the salon very often,” she said.
“I got to watch the shows too, which was great.”
Fusion Hair and Beauty hairdresser, Sasha Bachmann accompanied Sharon on the trip and worked on many different shows, including Morrison, Friend of Mine and Ready to Wear and Beach and Resort Wear (a collaboration of designers).
“I learnt a lot and I had a great time.”
