GRIDLOCK: Bruce Hwy truck crash causes kilometres of traffic

UPDATE 12NOON: Traffic is in gridlock for kilometres on the Bruce Hwy after a truck rollover earlier this morning.

The truck has been cleared from the scene and both lanes are now reopened but the Department of Transport and Main Roads advises traffic is stop-start for at least two kilometres in the southbound lanes.

The B-Double truck rolled near Coochin Creek in the early hours of this morning, about 1.5km south of Roys Rd.

Tow trucks attended and have cleared the truck away which was carrying 60 tonnes of fruit and vegetables.

Oranges and mandarins were spilled when the truck rolled.

Motorists have been advised to remain patient as traffic clears.

UPDATE 8AM: ONE lane of the Bruce Highway is closed as the clean up of an earlier truck rollover continues.

It is being reported most of the recovery is being completed with one lane open so there is no major traffic bank up at present.

UPDATE 6.30AM: THERE are still delays on the Bruce Highway following a truck rollover earlier this morning.

It is being reported delays are expected for the next hour or so.

Traffic is reportedly still getting through via traffic control.

EARLIER: A TRUCK has rolled over on the Bruce Highway.

It is being reported the loaded B Double has rolled in the southbound lanes of the highway near Beerwah.

They are advising motorists to take caution and expect delays.

Qld Traffic says a single lane is in operation following the crash at Coochin Creek, about 1.5km south of Roys Road.

Emergency services are on the scene.
