LNP vowing to be open, transparent if returned to power

THE Liberal National Party has vowed to "deliver greater confidence and integrity in government and government decision making" if it was returned to government.

LNP Leader Lawrence Springborg has promised to give the state's independent Integrity Commissioner a greater role in appointments and approval processes by allowing him to sit in on Cabinet discussions.

Mr Springborg also promised to return the state's AAA credit rating, without selling or leasing assets and - making a point to differentiate himself from the Newman administration - he said there would be no forced redundancies in the public service, under a government he led.

By close of business on Thursday, the Electoral Commission of Queensland had declared winners in 82 of the 89 seats including Ferny Grove which has been referred to the Court of Disputed Returns.

Labor has been declared winner in 41 seats including Ferny Grove, Liberal National Party 39, Katter's Australian Party 1, and Independent 1.
