Laidley league rundown

HERE are the Laidley Lions junior rugby league results from the past week.

U7: The boys played a wet one at Briggs Road.

The boys played a great defensive game with lots of mud sliding.

Ethan Dowie made a number of try saving tackles, Daniel Everson showed a lot of enthusiasm in his running and Jackson Crowley put in a great effort.

All boys are showing a lot of improvement.

U9: The boys had an outstanding team effort, all boys defended well with Jake Sullivan topping the tackle count with 16, followed by Seth Jones, Macquarie Moffatt, Oliver Bichel and Joey Stevens.

Seth King, scoring three tries and 10 tackles, was man of the match.

U10: On Saturday the boys played against a tough and determined Brothers Blue side.

Laidley, without a few key players, to their credit fired up and showed Brothers that they were a tough outfit.

Great attack from Billy Soderquist, Nick Clark, Seth Jackwitz and ‘The Brick' Rick Taylor.

Man of the match was Branden Russel and player's player for his outstanding defence was Joel Brett, great work in defence also from Mitch Pinconbe who put his body on the line in every tackle.

U11: The team played Brothers at Brothers on Friday night.

Laidley started out the game slow however came home strong with some great defence and communication from all players in the second half.

Tommy Wolf returned from injury to score a try in the corner.

Overall, all players have improved and this team is shaping up well.

U13: Travelled to Redbank on Friday night to play against Springfield.

The Lions were in control from the start and came away with a good win, 24-6.

Nathan Everson and Jessie Wolfe were standouts with Will Hancock and Ben Johnson also playing well.

Will Eberle and Adam Brett had solid games in the backs, they were supported by Ben Dunn and Braydon Knack.

The team was able to defend their line with a much improved and committed attitude in defence.

The boys will be looking to take this momentum into this week's clash against Goodna, who are currently at the top of the table.

U14: Congratulations on the boys win against Karalee 46-10.

The boys showed great team spirit and ball skills.

Tries from Dylan Clark, Robby Harkins, Cree Berg, Alex Robson, Rhys Manutai, Jessie Wyllie, Iuliano Muaula and Kade McGarrigal converted.
