LAKESIDE fun is off the table for anyone looking to cool off.

High levels of bacteria were detected in Lake Dyer during routine testing.

An announcement made by South East Queensland Water on Tuesday warned the Laidley lake was contaminated by a bacteria that could result in gastroenteritis-like symptoms.

The lake has been closed for all water-based activities until further notice.
