OPPOSITION Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk had a celebrity's welcome at a Labor rally against leasing assets in Brisbane earlier this morning.

Ms Palaszczuk was calmly waiting at the back of the Krugar Hall at Kallangur to be officially introduced on stage while Labor party volunteers nearby quickly snapped selfies with her.

The hall was packed with about 200 people in red t-shirts.

Once on stage Ms Palaszczuk rehashed the party's plan not to lease assets. She also reiterated the unemployment figure, which she said had grown from 5.5% in the 2012 election to 6.6% in December.

She also spoke about how the LNP had added $15 billion worth of debt during the past three years.

The crowd went wild during her speech; yelling "shame" every time she mentioned something Premier Campbell Newman had done, and clapping and cheering when she repeated Labor's messages.

As she left the hall, members of the crowd pushed through to give her a hug, handshake or kiss on the cheek while the rest of the room chanted "not for sale" in reference to public assets.
