Knuckle dusters allegedly found in raids on Gold Coast

OFFICERS from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime's Firearms Investigation Team executed a search warrant at a Pacific Pines residence yesterday morning after receiving information from the public that the occupant was in possession of an illegal firearm.

The search warrant at the Aldgate Crescent address resulted in officers allegedly locating a set of knuckle dusters concealed in the pants pocket of the male occupant.

A search of the residence also allegedly located a Walther P22 pistol, a conductive energy weapon disguised as a torch, 42 rounds of .22 calibre ammunition, gun powder and component parts of another handgun.

It will also be alleged police found approximately a gram of amphetamine and drug smoking utensils
A search of the man's vehicle allegedly located two sets of handcuffs and an extendable baton.

A 28-year-old Pacific Pines man was issued with a Notice to Appear on charges of unlawful possession of a dangerous drug, unlawful possession of drug utensils, unlawful possession of a firearm, and four counts of unlawful possession of weapons.

He is expected to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on January 27.
