
Kirsty Akers talks Naked at Muster
DON'T let her tiny stature fool you, Kirsty Akers has a big, rich and beautiful voice that is making waves on the country music circuit.
Hailing from Kurri Kurri, near Newcastle, Kirsty attended the Gympie Music Muster with her family for years before she first hit the stage at the event in 2007 after winning the Toyota Starmaker competition in Tamworth.
Kirsty's most recent album, Naked, includes the single In Spite Of Ourselves, which features ARIA award winner Kevin Mitchell, otherwise known as Bob Evans of Jebediah and indy favourite Basement Birds.
Kirsty sat down with the Gympie Times on Sunday afternoon to talk Muster memories, muddy boots, the thrill of fans singing along and her upcoming trip to the Americana Festival in Nashville. Check out the video, below.
