Driver killed near Home Hill was a police suspect
A 26-YEAR-OLD Mackay man killed in a crash south of Home Hill yesterday has been identified as the person police were looking for in the Mackay area on Wednesday.
The man died after his dual-cab utility rolled on Georgees Rd about 10am.
Police said the man, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His name has not been released
Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating the crash.
Police on Wednesday had appealed for information on a man seen to be carrying a firearm at Sarina on Tuesday.
He had been spotted at a Sarina shopping centre about 4.30pm Tuesday before he got into a late model dual-cab utility.
He eluded police after being sighted on the Sarina-Homebush Rd and again at Slade Point.
