Kids safety initiative
WHITE was the colour of the day for students and staff at Our Lady of Good Counsel School last Tuesday as part of Child Protection Week.
The free dress day, where staff and students were encouraged to wear white and donate a gold coin for Bravehearts, was an outstanding success.
Child Protection Week is aimed at ‘working together to create a safe environment'.
Bravehearts is an organisation whose mission and vision are to stop child sexual assault in our society and make Australia the safest place in the world to raise a child.
At OLGC, Principal Sue Carpenter, Provisional Psychologists co-ordinating a “Friends for Life” Program at OLGC from the Caroline Chisholm Centre in Brisbane, Miss Melissa Browning and Miss Sarah White, joined with students to fly white balloons as a way of showing support for this most important initiative.
