The ever-entertaining Member for the Far North Queensland seat of Kennedy is in hot water this evening after someone used his Facebook profile to make an inappropriate comment about glamorous Liberal staffer Tamara Candy.
Ms Candy previously worked for the Member for Dawson George Christensen.
News Corp reports Mr Katter replied to a post from Ms Candy on Facebook saying: "I think George Christensen would like you "volunteering" back on the Dawson campaign."
"He tells me his misses you Tam."
However when contacted this evening and asked about the comment Mr Katter's media team said they were the ones who posted the comment - not Bob.
"Bob's staff have access to the Facebook page and they posted the comment as Bob," a Katter Australia Party spokeswoman said.
When the spokeswoman was told the comment was being reported as sexist she said: "How's it sexist? - if Candy wants to be in politics she needs to grow a thick skin."
"I mean what the f@#k this isn't a story.
"Him (Mr Katter) and George enjoy a great working relationship, why would he say that about George?" she said.
Ms Candy expressed her views on the comments to News Corp earlier this evening.
"It's very grubby and sends a strong message about how Katter views women in the workforce," she said.
"Foul and classless for an MP. If Katter was from a major party he would be forced to resign."
In 2013 Mr Katter won the seat of Kennedy in a relatively close race with an LNP candidate by 3691 votes. And the result on Saturday is expected to be even closer.
Ms Candy is helping the LNP's candidate for Mr Katter's seat, John Pavetto.
