Junior league rundown

HERE are the Gatton Junior Rugby League results from the past week.

U7: A very exciting game of football to watch last weekend with all the boys playing together in one team after playing as two separate teams for the last couple of games. Good running and tackling by all the boys and some great tries had the crowd cheering.

U8: Great game boys and Carly. Keep up the good work and welcome to new player Dylan Boyd.

U9: Great runs from all the boys, they are all playing good footy together making their coaches very happy. Tries to Kynan Nawratzki, Harry Stibbard and Alex Barons. Man of the match was Kade Kark.

U10: Not such a good start to the game with a lot of dropped ball. A better performance in the second half saw some great tries. Great games by Jakob Harm and Isaac Cannon. Player of the match went to Jayden Crighton.

U11: A great start to the game with Macen Job scoring early. Man of the match was Damon Andrews who played his first game for the year. Well done to all. Try and conversion to Macen Job. Final score was Newtown 18 – Gatton 6.

U12: In a see-sawing battle the boys started slow letting Newtown to an early lead. Gatton scored some good tries to get in front but let Newtown score last to sneak away with the game. Tries to Jessie Steffens and Dylan Webb (3). Conversions to James Robinson, Jay Nolan and Daniel Nolan. Final score was Newtown 24 – Gatton 22.

U14: Much better effort by all the boys. Aiden Schmidt led from the front with a great game. Good effort boys, it was a tough game. Tries to Aiden Schmidt (2), Ben Ryan, Lachlan Gorman, Jacob Litzow and two well-deserved tries to Riley Godwin. Four conversions by Aiden.

Final score was Gatton 32 – Newtown 24.

U15: Too much dropped ball by the boys saw Souths get out to a big lead at half-time. Much better second half by the team with end result of five tries to four. Player of the match was Blake Ziser with good support from Shannon Hicks and Chris Robinson. Tries to Joshua Reisenleiter, Chris Robinson (2) and Mathew Webb. Conversions to Shannon Hicks (2) and Lachlan Kunde.

Final score was South 30 – Gatton 22.

A few weeks break now for the holidays with the next home game on Saturday, April 30, against Dalby.
