Jayde Kendall murder investigators call in expert

POLICE will consult an entomologist to examine the scene where the body of murdered Gatton schoolgirl Jayde Kendall was discovered.

Crown prosecutor Ryder Reid yesterday told a committal mention in Ipswich Magistrates Court the specialist would be consulted before a full brief of evidence is handed over to lawyers for murder-accused Brenden Jacob Bennetts.

The 19-year-old's lawyer Brendan Ryan did not make an application for bail for his client, instead indicating an application would be made once more information had been received from the prosecution.

A brief of evidence is expected to be prepared and handed over to Bennetts' legal team by October 28.

Bennetts is charged with one count of murder and interfering with a corpse.

Jayde's body was found in bushland in Upper Tent Hill 13 days after she was reported missing on August 14.

The matter will return to court on December 16.
