Jason makes Scott’s day with World Cup win

ADAM Scott's dream year has continued at Royal Melbourne - this time in partnership with Jason Day as Australia won the World Cup of Golf.

The Aussies beat the American pairing of Matt Kuchar and Kevin Streelman by 10 shots with Day's final round of 70 enough to give him the individual title.

Day finished on 10-under, two shots clear of Denmark's Thomas Bjorn with Scott back in third on seven-under.

It was Day's first tournament win in nearly three years.

"I'm just glad I held on," Day said.

Scott fired a final-round 66 but it was not enough for him to win his third tournament in a row in Australia.

He shot 75 on the opening day and spent the rest of the tournament trying to catch up.

Both Day and Scott, who each holed approach shots for eagles yesterday, shared the $600,000 first-place prize.
