
Cook sworn in as Lockyer Valley Deputy Mayor
NEWLY elected Lockyer Valley Regional councillor, Jason Cook has made the giant leap into the role of Deputy Mayor this morning.
The decision was made at the LVRC Post Election meeting, where newly elected and returning councillors were also officially sworn in.
Returning Councillor Jim McDonald nominated Cr Cook for the position, which was backed by Cr Mclean.
The new Deputy Mayor said he was excited to be given the opportunity of the role.

"I'm really looking forward to engaging with the community and engaging with the other councillors to get the results the community are looking for," Cr Cook said.
"My business interests are sorted and now I can commit 100 per cent to council and to this role.
"I don't like doing anything unless I can do it properly."
The Declaration of Office was made and subscribed to by Mayor Tanya Milligan and Councillors Jim McDonald, Kathy McLean, Jason Cook, Chris Wilson and Michael Hagan.
Cr Janice Holstein's absence was granted, due to family commitments.
