Intruder walked into bedroom, shot man in the head

A 24-year-old man is in hospital after an intruder walked into his bedroom, threatened him and then fired a shot in Brisbane's east last night.

The male intruder entered the home, on Long St at Hendra, about 11pm last night armed with a shotgun before firing towards the 24-year-old resident.

The male resident suffered a "minor gunshot wound to his neck and ear" in the incident, police said.

The intruder then left the address in an unknown vehicle.

The resident was treated by paramedics at the scene for a minor injury to the left side of his neck and ear before being taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

A crime scene has been established at the Hendra home as police investigate.
