Injuries compound woes for Richmond after loss to GWS


RICHMOND captain Trent Cotchin is confident he will be fit to face Greater Western Sydney on Saturday but the Tigers will be without defender David Astbury, who looks set to miss the rest of the season.

Astbury suffered a suspected patella dislocation in the shock defeat to Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday, the same injury which kept him out from round 12 in 2011 to round 22 in 2012.

Speaking on Channel 7's AFL Game Day, Cotchin (pictured), who sustained an ankle injury, said the team was still reeling from the defeat to the Demons on a day when the club honoured four-time premiership coach Tommy Hafey.

"One of our greats passed during the week ... and to let not only our football club, but our fans and his family down is disappointing," he said. "Two wins isn't enough if you want to compete for finals at this stage."
