Greyhound trainer faces Ipswich court

GREYHOUND breeder and owner Julie Elizabeth Edmondson has become the latest casualty of a state-wide police investigation into the live baiting scandal.

The 63-year-old appeared at Ipswich Magistrates Court yesterday, facing charges of animal cruelty and making a false declaration.

The matter was adjourned for a committal mention on July 1 - the same day disgraced greyhound trainers Tom Noble, 68, James Harding, 25, and Tony McCabe, 41, are due to reappear.

The charges followed an ABC Four Corners expose on the use of live animal baiting in greyhound training, which caused outrage and rocked the industry nationwide.
