I want to 'cut open your chest and burn out your insides'

A MAN accused of robbing a woman at a Sunshine Coast unit and telling her he wanted to burn her insides has been granted bail.

The Director of Public Prosecutions did not oppose granting bail for Matthew Koch, 41, when he faced Brisbane Supreme Court on Tuesday.

The court heard Mr Koch allegedly knew the woman whose handbag or wallet he was accused of taking.

Justice Martin Burns said Mr Koch allegedly told the woman she was "a dumb black sl**" who "deserved to die".

"What I want to do is cut open your chest and burn out your insides," Mr Koch also allegedly told the woman.

Barrister Dominic Nguyen said no actual physical violence occurred.

Mr Koch was granted bail with conditions including a curfew. - ARM NEWSDESK
