MORE than 32,000 Hyundai ix35s will be recalled due to a problem with the steering wheel airbag.

The airbag module retention bolt could be incorrectly tensioned, which could affect the function of the horn and the correct deployment of the airbag..

The VIN range is from KMHJT81BLBU238453 to KMHJU81VSEU860621.

A letter will be sent to affected owners. Return the vehicle to the nearest Hyundai dealership to have the driver's airbag module bolts inspected and tensioned to specification. This work will be carried out free of charge.

About 6000 ix35s were recalled earlier this year due to an issue with the seat belt pretensioner.
