HSV announces its final LS3 V8-powered limited editions
HSV has announced its very last vehicles to feature the venerable 6.2-litre LS3 V8 engine with three limited edition models for this year.
The belting naturally aspirated 340kW/570Nm V8 powerplant will appear in an SV Black limited edition of HSV's ClubSport R8 and Maloo R8; a ClubSport R8 Track Edition and, for muscled limo travel, an even more exclusive HSV Grange SV.
Starting with the ClubSport R8 and Maloo SV Black, styling is based on the current supercharged ClubSport R8 LSA and Maloo R8 LSA models that arrived last October, but feature unique SV Black features including satin black 20-inch alloys, black AP Racing four-piston calipers, satin graphite spoiler (sedan only), black accents and black badging.

Inside you score leather-clad sports bucket seats and unique sill and I.D. plates with - you knew this was coming, collectors - individual numbers for each vehicle.
Production starts next month, with HSV saying 350 ClubSport R8 SV Blacks will be released (plus 18 for New Zealand), with 100 Maloo SV Blacks on offer (plus two more for the Kiwis).
Retail prices before on-roads start from $62,990 for the ute and $65,990 the sedan.

Come September a limited edition ClubSport R8 Track Edition follows featuring styling, content and performance enhancements "sure to resonate with true motor sport enthusiasts."
LSA styling is again the basis, but Track Editions scores 20-inch Blade alloys in dark stainless and yellow AP Racing six-piston calipers borrowed from HSV's GTS.

Black fender vents, mirror scalps and door surrounds feature, plus there's shadow-chrome quad exhaust tips, new boot spoiler, leather-clad sports bucket seats and suede-wrapped sports steering wheel.
Enhanced suspension will pique the interest of track day enthusiasts, with HSV stiffening the spring and damper rates to reduce body roll and improve corner entry response. But like the SV Black models, no increase in power has been gifted to the Track Edition.

Unique exterior badging, sill and I.D. plates with individual build numbers of course feature on the 150 limited edition cars (there'll be a further six for New Zealand), and HSV is confident this is the model sure to sell out well in advance as they'll be, without question (we're promised), the very last LS3 ClubSport R8s ever built.
Prices start from $68,990 before on-roads.

Most exclusive of the lot is the Grange SV, limited to just 50 models.
The normal Grange long wheelbase limo already features Onyx leather seats and Magnetic Ride Control suspension to go with the LS3 V8, but the SV brings 20-inch SV Rapier gloss black alloys, black AP Racing four-piston calipers and black accenting to go with the required individually numbered plates.

Price before on-roads remains at $86,990 for the special Grange SVs, with production starting in September: the 20th anniversary of the HSV Grange model.
