Hospital strike over, 1000 workers return
THE strike which brought construction at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital to a standstill is over.
The Electrical Trade Union (ETU) confirmed an agreement had been reached with contractor Nilsen at 11am on Wednesday.
State Organiser Dan Bessey said all of the 1000 workers involved in building the region's newest hospital would be "back at work" on Thursday.
"We have been able to come to terms we can agree to," he said.
Mr Bessey feared the about 800 workers who weren't ETU member and downed tools illegally may face legal action.
Fair Work Building and Construction said people involved in unprotected industrial action could face fines of $10,800 each.
Unions accused of being involved in unprotected industrial action faced fines of $54,000.
Mr Bessey said he wouldn't be surprised if there was "action against the Unions".
