UPDATE: POLICE have revealed that the Hervey Bay chapter of the Rebels Motorcycle Club no longer exists, with every single member turning in their colours over the past couple of months.

Detective Senior Sergeant Nikki Colfs said investigations were underway to see if any past members were involved in the suspicious fire that gutted the club's clubhouse at Urangan overnight.

"The Hervey Bay chapter of the rebels had become non-existent prior to the fire," she said.

"If anyone has any information or saw anyone in the vicinity, please contact Crime Stoppers."

EARLIER: POLICE are standing guard at the Rebels clubhouse in Hervey Bay on Wednesday morning following a suspicious fire overnight.

The clubhouse, located in an Urangan industrial estate, went up in flames just after 11.30pm.

"The unit was well engulfed in fire by the time we arrived," Torquay Fire Station's Neil Probert said.

"Four units arrived and bought it under control in an hour.

"There was some heat damage to the unit next door."

The clubhouse has been declared a crime scene and investigations are already underway by the Criminal Investigation Branch.
