
Hells Angel member lands in court after traffic stop
A HELLS Angel member has been charged after police uncovered cocaine and a semi-automatic handgun during a Gold Coast traffic stop.
Just before 7.30pm, Task Force Maxima detectives intercepted a car traveling south on the Gold Coast Highway at Broadeach.
During a search of the car investigators allegedly located a clipseal bag containing cocaine and a .22 calibre semi-automatic handgun.
A 42-year-old male senior patched member of the Hells Angels OMCG was charged with one count each of possession of dangerous drug, firearms and a silencer or "category R weapon"
He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
A 21-year-old man was issued a notice to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on June 21, charged with one count each of possess category H weapon and possess category R weapon.
"Illicit firearms particularly handguns, in the hands of OMCG is a recipe for disaster. It's another win for the community with every firearm we seize from crime gangs," Taskforce Commander Mick Niland stated.
