Emergency services have removed the cattle from the highway after they broke loose when a truck rolled.

The crash took place on the Helidon exit. Another 20 or so cattle are still trapped in the wreckage.

The driver of the truck was treated at the scene by paramedics.

The semi-trailer rolled about 9.45am in the eastbound lane.

Authorities say it could take several hours to free the cattle from the wreckage and remove the truck and there are some delays for eastbound traffic.
