Hazard reduction burn in Murphy's Creek area
Queensland Rail will be undertaking controlled hazard reduction burns in the rail corridor along Thomas Road in Murphys Creek this Saturday, 29 August from 8am-5pm (weather permitting).
A Queensland Rail spokesperson said the work may cause temporary inconvenience to neighbouring properties, however it is essential to manage vegetation in the rail corridor and reduce the risk of bushfires in the area.
"Every effort will be made to carry out the works with as little disruption as possible, however as some smoke haze is expected residents in close proximity to this area may like to consider shutting their windows and doors during this time," the spokesperson said.
"We thank the local community for their understanding, and if anyone has any questions about this work they can contact Queensland Rail by emailing communityengagement@qr.com.au or by calling 13 16 17 (between 7.15am and 5pm Monday-Friday)."
