Hairdressers style with the best
TWO local hairdressers have secured a spot in the Redken Session Styling Team at the Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival in May, one of the most fashionable experiences available in Australia.
Fusion Hair and Beauty owner, Sharon Kluck, said she and Sasha Bachmann auditioned for the team in February.
“The auditions were held in every state and competition was tough with great talent from big city salons,” she said.
“Pressure was on as we were given some challenging tasks to be executed perfectly in a really short period of time.
“They marked people at the auditions on things like timing, blow-drying strengths and correctly following instructions.
“This will be my second time as part of the Redken team, but it's Sasha's first, which she is so happy about to be given the opportunity.”
Mrs Kluck said she was also looking forward to the event.
“Last year I loved it and I had many memorable experiences and going backstage was amazing,” she said.
“It is very exclusive and there are a lot of celebrities and VIPs.”
She said the artistic directors were amazing and by working there you learnt from the best in the business.
“They got to the fashion shows in Paris and New York and they bring back tips and stories about what they have learnt, which is really valuable,” she said.
“They work us hard.
“You aren't just standing there with bobby pins, you are really going hard for hours.”
She said Sydney Fashion Week was a prestigious event.
“It's not something that you can just buy a ticket to see and when you work on the shows, you get to see the shows as well, which is great to see it all come together,” she said.
“Last year we got to see Napoleon Perdis doing make-up and picked up a lot of new knowledge and skills which I can pass on to my team and my clients.”
