George Christensen happy to be called 'right wing dinosaur'

I APOLOGISE if George (Christensen) is offended by being called a right wing dinosaur, Greens leader Richard Di Natale told last night's Q & A.

"How can the ALP and the Greens turn around to gay and lesbian people in the community when there is no chance for marriage equality in the life of this parliament, and say that they've really put politics before people," a member of the audience asked.

The Greens leader said people didn't support the plebiscite process.

He hit out at Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and said the Government was a "trainwreck".

"He has an opportunity here, he can stand up to those right wing dinosaurs inside his own party, show some leadership, be true to who he is... people are feeling betrayed," Mr Di Natale said.

Economist Judith Sloan said she didn't think using slurring terms like 'right wing dinosaurs' was not part of the civilised debate.

Mr Di Natale then took aim at Dawson MP George Christensen.

"George Christensen... I don't know if the word civilised is being used too much with George Christensen," he quipped.

"If George is offended by being called a right wing dinosaur then I apologise."

Ms Sloan criticised Mr Di Natale's apology calling it "faux".

Meanwhile Dawson MP George Christensen took to social media to respond to Mr Di Natale's dinosaur comment.
